As a Sri Lankan I’m not sure whether I find this condescending or not, but it most certainly is rather hilarious. It’s also interesting to see how things have changed, in the cities at least, and have not changed in the villages.

    Haha yeah I’ve seen this one…and another one in the same series Charming Ceylon.

    I find it condescending, but not offensive (I think I was too busy laughing to be offended :D ). And to be fair, we all have the capacity to be condescending when it comes to alien cultures. I can’t imagine how they could’ve seen the country in any other way.

    That was fun :) I still think we should’ve stuck with the name Ceylon. It’s such a wonderfully classy name, and as far as I know, is still rather unique.
